The Gheren gods do not have bodies and consist of only a head. This is not just in appearance. This is because the gods are above mortal pleasures and no longer have need their bodies. Bodies are for mortals and for mortal pleasure. During the daylight hours work is the most important thing in Gheren society. Those who do not work are deemed useless and are either banished or killed outright so as not to spoil the breeding pool and poison the minds of the weak. Every Gheren is expected to work from sunup to sundown every day. The only time one is allowed to rest during these times are the sick or wounded and only after a healer has deemed so. If they are well enough, they are given “soft” work to do in lieu of their regular duties. During night time hours though it’s an entirely different story. Gherens are encouraged to partake in the mortal pleasures. Away from the eyes of their gods they are allowed to engage in any form of pleasure as much and as long as they like, so long as they are able to work at full strength the next day.
In Gheren doctrine, there is a prophecy that the people of Nibe will one day be delivered forth to the promised land. This land will provide for them everything they could ever want and their days of perpetual labor would be done. The only work they will be required to do is to provide the essentials for themselves. The gods would provide most of their needs for them. While the Gherens believed that they were exiled to Lacuna as a punishment for failing to work hard enough, the Pymian’s viewed the Exodus as the reward for all their hard work. They were led out of the mountains into the valley of Hushma by Father Pym. The valley would become known as the Shire of Pym. The Pymians still believe in the Godheads and still worship them but their prayers are of thanks for the great reward and for continual guidance through Pymian Doctrine. This scripture was written by Father Pym and is believed to have been given to him by the great Godhead Malikai (Mal-a-ki).
